About Cecile
I’m Cécile, a native French speaker living in Southeast Melbourne. I come from a background in art, education, and child care, and I currently work as a Duty Manager at MoPA, the Museum of Play and Art, where I also teach creative classes to young children. I previously worked as a babysitter in Paris, supporting children in their daily lives and emotional development.
I want to teach French because I deeply believe that children learn best when they feel safe, understood, and encouraged. Language is not just about words — it’s about confidence, expression, and connection. Through teaching French, I want to help children grow, communicate, and feel proud of themselves, while also supporting parents in their child’s education.

My private French lessons are built around creativity, emotional safety and confidence. With my background as an art teacher for young children at MoPA Museum of Play and Art and my experience as a babysitter in Paris, I understand how children learn best: through play, routine, imagination and trust. I design each lesson to suit the child’s age, interests and energy level, using games, storytelling, drawing and conversation to make French feel natural and enjoyable. My goal is not only to teach a language, but to support children’s emotional development and help them feel capable, heard and proud of themselves while learning.
