About Lydia
Hi, I'm Lydia, your new singing teacher!
I’m a professional jazz singer and multi-instrumentalist who loves helping singers find their voice and confidence. I’ve performed across the UK with jazz orchestras in venues including Ronnie Scott’s, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Cadogan Hall and more. My musical journey began early, with recorder at age four, and grew into formal training with Grade 8 in piano, clarinet and voice, followed by an MA in Jazz Performance (Singing) from the world-renowned Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
Teaching is where everything comes together for me. I have extensive experience as a vocal teacher at the City of London School for Girls, where I’ve supported students of varied ages and abilities, building healthy technique, developing musicianship, preparing for exams and auditions, and nurturing a genuine love of singing across styles. Before that, I ran a welcoming home teaching studio in Kent. Many of my students there took their first steps into learning about the voice, while others polished classical and musical theatre repertoire; all of them learned in a supportive, encouraging environment. Whether you’re a complete beginner, returning to singing, or ready to refine your artistry, I’ll meet you where you are with clear, practical guidance and plenty of musical joy. Lessons can include piano/keyboard support, jazz improvisation and musicianship coaching. Let’s set goals that excite you, and make steady, musical progress together.
