About Pratik

I am a senior software engineer who has worked with giants like Wells Fargo U.S.A, Webjet, and Infosys with multiple startups. I have been a professional tutor at Monash University for a year at the highest levels. I have taught people of all ages and levels. I have alumni all over the industry still in touch with me.

About the lesson

I believe in practical knowledge and technical support. I help students with post-session doubts and support pair programming. Proper handheld teaching methodology. I ensure that the students have gained maximum value for their money. I usually am prepared with a lesson plan whenever I am handling a session. The sessions start with an overview, followed by new material. The sessions usually end with a recap and revision of content. The feedback is constant and you can ask doubts anytime (even after the sessions are concluded).

Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?
I have been always fascinated by the world of computers and I was an engineer at heart. I first started using the computer at school where we were taught computer programming basics. We were introduced to Pacman, and I just couldn't let go of it.
What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?
I believe the evolution of media devices like mobile phones has made it possible to reach newer heights and design innovative products that will certainly make a difference. I believe there is nothing we cannot do right now with our phones and it is just the beginning of a new era.
Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.
I am an engineer at heart and I like to solve real-world problems whether it is in the webspace, in the front-end and backend, or portable devices. I specialize in delivering software solutions. This is important as we sometimes get lost in technology.
Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?
My role model is Jeff Bezos as I am fascinated by the Amazon ecosystem and how diversified the business is. I believe it was Jeff's dream and he pursued it. He made sure he employes the right people and kept them to make the giant that is Amazon right now.
What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?
No one was ever born a programmer, it is time and patience that has made the best who they are right now. With the right guidance and perseverance, you can do it too.
6) What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?
I love football, reading and travelling.
