About Julio

Spanish native, I studied English at Oxford and French at La Sorbonne, getting the chance to leave on both english speaking countries and Paris for almost 8 years in total. I started teaching languages on 2011, focusing on English and Spanish as a second language, as well as preparation for certain proficiency exams (IELTS, TOEFL and DELE mainly).

About the lesson

I believe in content being a key tool for language learning specially for vocabulary, language retention and fluidity practice. I've been working with a platform called FilmDoo Academy that created a software that allows tutors to create courses through any video content. I have participated in Free Live events (focusing on Spanish) to test its effectiveness. Additional media (music, games), and any other entertaining manner of teaching are very much part of my lessons, since I believe the key of language learning is to make it as accessible and less tedious as possible.

Julio is a great, fantastic and enthusiastic teacher! I started out as a complete Spanish beginner, but in a few months, Julio was able to get me speaking and using conversational Spanish with very real-life phrases! I like how Julio uses a lot of films in his class, so from the beginning, we are immersed with authentic native content and gradually become used to and have the confidence to speak in the language! Julio is also multi-lingual, so at the same time, I'm also learning French and practising my English, which is great!
