About Francoise

Bonjour! I’m Françoise Gibbison, a native French tutor based in the UK since 1996. In 2012, I made a career switch from science to follow my passion for languages, earning a Certificate in Language Teaching to Adults from Goldsmiths, University of London. Since then, I’ve helped adults and teenagers gain confidence and succeed in French through interactive, flexible courses aligned with CEFR levels. I also create tailored resources for UK exams like Common Entrance and GCSE, ensuring lessons fit each learner’s goals and style. I teach both in person and online worldwide. To support learning beyond lessons, I’ve developed a growing library of 1,200+ video tutorials paired with learner and teacher packs—perfect for independent study or classroom use. As a language learner myself (currently learning Spanish!), I know first hand the challenges involved. That’s why empathy, enthusiasm, and encouragement are central to my teaching approach. If you’re seeking personalised, native French tutoring, I’d love to help you—or your child—reach your full potential.

About the lesson

Inspiring confidence, results, and a love of French — from Common Entrance to A-Level (Online lessons with a native tutor — 13 years’ experience) ________________________________________ Parents often come to me saying: “She just doesn’t know how to revise French.” “Grammar is a nightmare.” “He panics in speaking exams.” “Her predicted grade is low, so she’s lost confidence.” I completely understand — and that’s exactly where I come in. I offer empathetic, tailored support for learners aged 11+, designed to build both skills and confidence. My online lessons are interactive, supportive, and built around your child’s specific needs and goals. What to expect from lessons: • Tailored revision strategies based on how your child learns best • Simplified grammar and verbs with clear, logical explanations • Targeted practice using past papers and custom-made resources • Memory-boosting recall activities to support long-term learning • Exam-focused speaking and writing prep in a calm, encouraging space • Patient, adaptive teaching — I always rephrase or revisit when needed I believe there are no “silly” mistakes — only chances to grow. Every student is different, and my job is to make sure they feel understood, capable, and motivated to succeed. ________________________________________ Results speak for themselves: My students have: • Won scholarships (e.g. to St Paul’s) • Jumped up to 3 GCSE grades when students engaged fully and committed to the learning process. (e.g. from predicted 4 to final 7) • Developed a love for French — with some now studying it at university ________________________________________ Get in touch to see how I can help your child thrive in French — with clarity, confidence, and results. à bientôt. Françoise
