About Amy
My name is Amy and I am a 19 year-old piano student at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Previously I studied at Chetham's School of Music and the Jersey Academy of Music. Piano has been such a big part of my life and I want to share my love of classical music with others! I am currently in my first year of the course and love all types of music, as well as getting involved in orchestra opportunities and choral singing when possible! My friends would describe me as bubbly, energetic and patient and I love working with children. I think for anyone starting an instrument, the most important part is enjoying the music and developing a love for classical music that is lifelong!

I am currently a nanny for an adorable 4 year old and have a background in childcare, I love teaching children but also teach adults. Most of my experience is in teaching age 4-16 beginners (grade 1-5) for 30 mins-1hr depending on age but have taught up to Grade 8. I have worked with neurodivergent students before and really try to adapt my teaching to the individual student's needs!
In terms of rates, I deduct from the rate when teaching online and have always charged under the Musician's Union rate because I'm very passionate about music being accessible to everyone! I am a keen singer and think that lessons should be fun and taught in a holistic way, especially for young beginners, so often teach using singing, aural work, music theory etc., games etc in the lessons. Can teach singing grades 1-5, music theory, piano as well as supporting practice.
