With over 10 years of experience teaching students of all ages, I’ve developed a flexible, student-centered approach that makes math accessible, understandable, and even enjoyable. Having worked with kids from early elementary through high school — and even adults returning to education — I know that every learner brings a unique set of strengths, challenges, and goals.
I believe the best way to learn math is through clear explanations, active problem-solving, and plenty of encouragement. I break complex ideas down into manageable steps, always connecting new concepts to real-world examples. I use a mix of visual aids, guided practice, and strategic questioning to help students not just memorize formulas, but truly understand the why behind the math.
Mistakes are treated as valuable learning opportunities — not setbacks. Building a student’s confidence is just as important as building their skills.
Each lesson is customized to the student's needs, but generally follows this structure:
Warm-up: Quick review of previous material or a fun challenge question to get thinking.
New Topic Introduction: Clear explanation, using diagrams, examples, or stories.
Guided Practice: Working through problems together, gradually releasing responsibility.
Independent Practice: Students apply the concept with support as needed.
Wrap-Up and Reflection: Summarizing key takeaways and setting a goal for next time.
What Sets Me Apart
Patience, adaptability, and a deep commitment to seeing every student succeed set me apart as a tutor. I have a knack for spotting where a student is stuck and finding new ways to explain the material until it "clicks."
Thanks to my decade of experience and work across a wide age range, I’m able to shift my style — more playful and visual for young children, more structured and analytical for older students — depending on what the learner needs most.
My lessons are suited for:
Students from elementary school through high school
College students needing support in entry-level mathematics courses
Students preparing for exams like SAT, ACT, GRE, or local school assessments
Kids with learning differences who need a slower pace or different approach
Anyone who wants to move from "I can’t do math" to "I get it now!"
Whether your goal is catching up, moving ahead, or mastering a tough concept, I can help you get there.
