Plan of Action: Assessment and Goal Setting: Begin with an initial assessment to understand each child's current Tamil knowledge. Set clear, achievable learning goals for each grade level. Tailor the curriculum to the specific needs and interests of the kids. Foundational Skills (Grades 1-2): Introduction to Uyir and Mei Ezhuthukkal (Vowels and Consonants): Basic Vocabulary: Start with simple words related to everyday objects, family, and colors. Simple Sentence Formation: Introduce basic sentence structures using picture prompts and interactive exercises. Oral Communication: Encourage speaking through simple conversations, storytelling, and role-playing. Introduce cultural songs, and very simple stories. Building Vocabulary and Grammar (Grades 3-4): Expanding Vocabulary: Introduce new vocabulary related to animals, nature, and daily activities. Grammar Basics: Introduce basic grammar concepts like verb conjugations and sentence structure. Reading and Writing Simple Sentences: Practice reading and writing simple sentences and short paragraphs. Storytelling and Comprehension: Read and discuss simple Tamil stories to improve comprehension. Introduce more complex cultural stories, and songs. Advanced Language Skills (Grade 5): Advanced Vocabulary and Grammar: Introduce more complex vocabulary and grammar concepts. Reading and Writing Longer Texts: Practice reading and writing longer texts, such as short stories and poems. Conversational Tamil: Encourage fluent conversations through debates, discussions, and presentations. Introduction to Tamil Literature: Introduce simple Tamil poems and stories. Continue with cultural immersion through stories and songs. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Positive Reinforcement: Encourage and praise children for their efforts and progress. Regular Feedback: Provide constructive feedback to help children improve their language skills. Consistent communication with parents, to update on the progress of the children.
