About Will
I’m motivated to tutor because I’ve experienced first-hand how much the right teacher and a fresh perspective can change the way you approach learning. Geography went from being one of my weakest and least favourite subjects to something I studied at university, eventually graduating top of my class with a nationally recognised dissertation.
That experience taught me that struggling with a subject doesn’t necessarily reflect your ability; sometimes you simply haven’t found the approach that works for you. My aim is to help students find that approach, build confidence and develop skills they can continue using independently.

My approach to tutoring starts with understanding you as an individual – what you want to achieve, where you are currently, and what you are already doing to get there. From this, we can identify practical improvements and develop a clear approach to help you reach your goals.
I offer in-depth technical and structural tuition, whether you are learning a subject from scratch, preparing for an exam, improving essay technique, or looking for support with current coursework or homework. I particularly enjoy teaching Geography and commercially focused subjects, drawing on both my academic background and professional experience.
A key aim of my tutoring is to leave you with skills that you can continue using independently. Even after a single session, I want you to come away with not only a better understanding of the subject, but also a stronger approach to learning, structuring your work and identifying areas for improvement yourself. I believe good tutoring should build confidence and independence rather than reliance on a tutor.
This approach is shaped by my own academic experience. I graduated top of my class in Geography at the University of Nottingham, with my dissertation receiving a national prize, and I now work in a professional commercial role while completing a Master’s in Quantity Surveying, Project and Cost Management. Alongside this, I have previous experience tutoring a range of subjects in person. I therefore welcome students at all stages, from school level through to university, and can adapt sessions to suit different abilities, objectives and ways of learning.
Sessions can be booked individually or as a package, depending on the level of support you need. Your first session is offered at half price as a trial, giving us an opportunity to discuss your goals, understand what you would like to improve and make sure my approach is right for you before committing to further lessons.
All sessions are held online using whichever platform is most convenient for you. I am flexible with lesson timings and duration and am happy to accommodate last-minute bookings or changes wherever possible.
