About Alice
I am a dedicated and passionate paramedic with a strong focus on frailty and optimising care pathways to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions. My commitment to patient care drives my interest in ensuring that individuals receive the appropriate treatment in the most suitable setting. I have a strong interest in research, which I believe is crucial for the continuous improvement of paramedicine practices. My ultimate career goal is to become a research paramedic, contributing to the advancement of the field through rigorous and impactful studies. Although my primary focus is on qualitative research, exploring the experiences, perceptions, and outcomes of patients and healthcare providers, I also possess an understanding of quantitative and mixed methods research. This diverse skill set enables me to approach research questions from multiple angles, providing a comprehensive understanding of the issues at hand. Techniques and Teaching Methodology: My approach focuses on helping students develop a strong academic structure for their essays and facilitating idea brainstorming sessions. I employ a combination of direct instruction, interactive discussions, and practical exercises to ensure students gain a thorough understanding of how to effectively organise and present their ideas. Typical Length of a Lesson: I am flexible with lesson lengths to accommodate the varying needs of my students. Sessions can be adjusted based on the specific requirements and schedules of the students. Qualifications/Experience as a Tutor: I hold a first-class degree in Paramedicine and am currently working towards publishing my research. My experience includes tutoring BSc level paramedic students, with a particular emphasis on essay structure and academic writing. Who Are My Lessons For: My lessons are designed for undergraduate paramedic students and individuals aspiring to enter the field of paramedicine. I also offer assistance with writing applications for paramedicine programmes. Lessons are conducted via Teams unless the student is local, in which case in-person sessions can be arranged.
