About Charnteá
Focusing on steady progress matters more than rushing through complex conjugation lists. Honestly, I sometimes worry that modern materials make French feel too mechanical for the casual learner.
We will spend our time on everyday phrases while mixing in some cultural context to keep things interesting. I bring a songwriter mentality to our sessions to help with your liaison and nasal sounds through listening practice. Building your vocabulary happens naturally when we look at idioms rather than just lists. It is quite helpful to simulate interview preparation if you are heading toward an exam.
My 13 years of experience allow me to pivot when a topic gets tricky for a student. Since I enjoy the cadence of Québécois speech, we will surely find a rhythm that works for you. What is the biggest hurdle currently standing in your way?

Completing my BA French Studies at Concordia University set the foundation for my 13 years of teaching. Honestly, I find that even after two decades, the nuance of Québec culture still fascinates me daily. I spent time refining my own grasp of the language before helping hundreds of others find their confidence.
My work primarily supports adults preparing for DELF exams or those planning their first trip to Montréal. You will find that I lean into the chanson tradition to keep things grounded and authentic. The process of learning a language feels different when it is connected to a melody. I have worked with countless learners who want to move past basic textbook grammar.
