About Joanne
I have been teaching English for over 15 years and have taught in Japan, Spain, Italy and the UK. Amongst other courses, I have taught exam preparation classes (IELTS, CPE, CAE, FCE), General English and English for Academic Purposes (EAP). I have plenty of experience teaching one-to-one as well as small and large groups. I have taught both monolingual and multilingual groups. I have a BA in English Language and LInguistics, an MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL and a CELTA (Grade A). I also have a PGCE to teach the post 16 sector and used to teach literacy to adult students.

For me, the most important aspect of the lesson is you, the student. I will find out your language aims, learning preferences and interests and try to tailor the lessons to meet those aims incorporating your interests and using materials that will appeal to your learning style and preferences. I will use a range of material, including authentic texts, podcasts, videos to keep you motivated and help you understand real world language. I want you to feel comfortable learning English with me.

Perfect! Joanne is the best tutor I have ever met in my life.
First of all, she is very good at building student's confidence. She is very kind and good listener.
Second, she gives personalized lessons. I have experienced a lot of tutor lessons, but I have never seen anyone else who actually offers personalized lessons other than her.
Third, she gives a specific and neat feedback by email after each lesson. It definitely helps to improve English.
