About Akriti
My name is Akriti Sahu, and yoga has been at the center of my life for over a decade. I hold a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Yoga Science, and I've spent the years since deepening my understanding of yoga — not just as a physical practice, but as a complete discipline of body, breath, and mind. I currently teach at Aviyog and have been guiding students since 2019, from complete beginners to those training to become yoga teachers themselves.
What draws me to teaching is watching someone go from unsure and stiff to confident and at ease in their own body — that transformation never gets old. I bring patience, genuine care, and a lot of curiosity to every class, and I genuinely enjoy the process of explaining things clearly until they click for a student. Outside of teaching, I stay engaged with the wider yoga community through workshops and conferences, always learning something new to bring back to my students.

When you take a lesson with me, you're not just learning poses — you're learning yoga the way it's meant to be taught: with a real understanding of anatomy, breath, and the philosophy behind the practice. My M.Sc in Yoga Science means I don't just show you what to do, I explain why it works for your body, so you build a practice that actually makes sense to you.
I've spent 6+ years teaching students at every level, and I also train people who go on to become yoga teachers themselves — so I know how to break down even complex concepts into something clear and easy to follow. Lessons are never one-size-fits-all. I pay close attention to your alignment, your pace, and your goals, and adjust each session accordingly, whether you're recovering from an injury, managing stress, building strength, or preparing to teach yoga yourself.
What students consistently mention is how patient and clear my communication is — you'll always understand what to do and why, never left guessing. I create a calm, supportive space where you can ask questions, make mistakes, and progress at your own pace.
Your first lesson is a chance for us to talk through your goals and see if we're a good fit — no pressure, just an honest conversation about how yoga can work for you.
