About Alpa
I am a software engineer with 10 years of industry experience. I also have 5 years of teaching programming fundamentals, OO concepts, Java. My goal is to make learning to code fun for high school students, beginners in coding. I create a very supportive and engaging environment for students to learn, ask questions, and grow their skills.

I believe learning should be fun and challenging. For high schoolers or beginners in the coding world or AP students, I would like to teach them concepts visually and give them fun challenges to reinforce the concepts. My teaching style is incremental teaching and challenges. A typical lesson plan: • Developing Problem Solving mindset – Learn to solve any problems logically and analytically rather than memorizing a bunch of commands and constructs. • Concept – Explaining programming concepts in clear language and breaking them into small parts. • Logic Blueprint – Solving on paper with test cases before coding. • Coding – We’ll write and run Java or any other language programs together. • Practical exercises – Apply what you learn with fun coding challenges. My strong belief as a teacher: Student-Centric - Interested in students getting the concepts rather than rote memorization. Encouraging environment - I believe in "if you're wondering, it's worth asking and no question is small or silly" which creates a judgment-free environment.
