About Oliver
I'm a bass player from Chile, with more than 10 years of experience as working musician. I love improvising on the bass and playing over chord changes. This has helped me understand harmony and train my ear to be able to learn chord progression on the spot and follow chord changes easily. I've studied double bass, electric bass, and jazz improvisation, and played many different styles over the years, such as funk, soul, jazz, blues, rock, and of course Latin rhythms including Afro-Cuban and Brazilian music. I'll be more than happy to share all I know to help you in your music journey to become the best player you can be.

My teaching is tailored to the student needs which can be grouped in 3 main categories: Bass Essentials: Here we explore basslines that the student wants to learn as well as the must-know of the instrument such as the notes on the fretboard, right and left hand technique, ghost notes, Rhythm & Latin Music: This category is for the student who want to take their rhythmic game to the next level by exploring the rhythmic nature and diversity of the Latin music. Here we focus on syncopation, up-beat articulation, and rhythmic displacement and overlapping. Harmony & Improvisation. This method is tailored for the student who wants to learn how to improvise and play over chord changes. Here we discover how to build strong bass solos, walking bass lines, and becoming highly proficient in functional harmony to follow any chord progression with ease. You can choose to explore one or all areas simultaneously. I'll be more than happy to share all I know to make you a better player. Cheers!
