About Emory
Hi, I’m a singing tutor with over 6 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Voice. I’m passionate about helping students build vocal confidence, overcome performance anxiety, and truly connect emotionally with the songs they sing. I teach a variety of styles, including Pop, Indie, R&B, and Contemporary Worship. My lessons focus on breath control, expressive phrasing, vocal health, and live performance coaching. I tailor my approach to each student, whether you’re a shy beginner, a teen performer, or an aspiring recording artist. I love guiding learners through exercises that strengthen technique while allowing them to explore their unique sound. We work on interpreting lyrics, developing stage presence, and expressing emotion through music. I also emphasize healthy vocal habits to ensure longevity in your singing journey. My goal is to create a safe, encouraging space where students feel supported and inspired. Singing should be joyful, empowering, and a form of personal expression. My teaching methodology focuses on helping each singer discover their unique vocal identity while growing creatively. For advanced teens, I guide them in refining vocal nuance, expanding range, and mastering expressive interpretation.
Song interpretation and storytelling are central to every lesson. I encourage students to connect emotionally with lyrics, using tools like lyric analysis sheets and vocal journals to deepen understanding. Exploring different genres allows singers to experiment, expand their musical palette, and develop versatility. Improvisation exercises further enhance creativity and confidence in performance.
I incorporate technology, including DAWs and melody trainers, to provide real-time feedback and track progress. Lessons are tailored to individual goals, whether performing, recording, or personal enjoyment. Students learn to express themselves authentically while mastering vocal technique.
Through structured exercises, guided improvisation, and reflective practice, learners develop both skill and artistry. My approach balances technical growth with creative freedom. Each session is engaging, motivating, and focused on helping students feel confident and inspired.
