About Jenna
With over 9 years of experience teaching piano both in-person and online, I hold a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance. My teaching philosophy centres on active participation, musical intent, and fostering well-rounded musicianship. I believe every student learns best when lessons are engaging, inspiring, and tailored to their unique strengths and goals. I focus on developing technique, musicality, and creativity, while integrating music history and theory to deepen understanding.
Each lesson is adapted to the student’s level, from beginners exploring their first notes to advanced and professional musicians refining performance and interpretation. I emphasise not just playing notes, but connecting emotionally with the music and communicating it confidently. I have helped students build confidence, master challenging repertoire, and achieve success in exams, recitals, and performances. Patience, encouragement, and adaptability are at the heart of my teaching approach.

My piano teaching approach is designed to help students excel in performances, competitions, and recordings. I focus on building strong posture and healthy technique to ensure ease and precision while playing.
We work closely on phrasing, dynamics, and expression to bring each piece to life. Stage presence is another key area, helping students perform confidently and connect with their audience. For students preparing recordings, I integrate digital tools like DAWs and audio analysis apps to refine timing, tone, and clarity. I guide learners to critically listen to their performances and make meaningful improvements.
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s goals, whether it’s excelling in exams, mastering church music, or performing in concerts. I encourage consistent practice, provide clear feedback, and celebrate progress at every step. My aim is to cultivate not only technical skill but also a love for music. Students leave lessons feeling confident, motivated, and fully prepared for any musical challenge.
