Intermediate: my approach is to teach students how to bring blues soloing to life with interesting colour notes. I teach that the pentatonic scale can be made much more interesting through the incorporation of tasteful embellishments.
Beginner: my aim is to teach students how to build fluency in chord changes and to introduce the idea of soloing over simple progressions.
