About Shanti
"Do you often find that your hands feel tight while playing complex pieces? I work with students aged 6 through adult who are searching for technical freedom in their performance. My home studio in Austin serves as a space where conservatory discipline meets patient, encouraging feedback.
After 5 years of teaching and guiding 60 students, I rely on my BMus from the Curtis Institute of Music to guide my instruction. I am a Taubman Approach practitioner who solves injury-prone technique through the careful mapping of natural forearm rotation and pronation. Music has been central to my life since I was 5, and I look forward to helping you reach your artistic goals."

"Technique is a physical conversation between the artist and the instrument. Precision matters.
I integrate my background from the Curtis Institute of Music to ensure that all piano students master pedaling technique, chord voicing, sight transposition, music theory, and ear training. My instruction focuses on the essential mechanics of movement to create a sustainable foundation. Weekly practice modules are assigned with every class to ensure consistent growth between our meetings. These exercises prioritize the Taubman Approach to refine your physical ease at the keyboard.
You will gain a deeper understanding of how subtle adjustments in rotation transform your overall sound. This structured format builds a clear roadmap for your progress throughout our time together."
