About Alyssa
Hi! I am Alyssa Zhao and I am a year 12 student at Rangitoto College. I am currently studying NCEA and am part of various extracurriculars such as SPCA, Student Volunteer Army, and Candywaves. I also volunteer part-time at Red Cross as a sales assistant. This year I am studying biology, calculus, chemistry, English, photography, and physics.
I love to read, and when I am not reading, I am volunteering wherever and whenever. Part of my volunteer experience involves customer service, communication, and interacting with young children.

My lessons are 1 hr to 1.5 hrs for primary and intermediate students.
Lessons typically start with a Do Now activity that is a revision of the previous lesson with a question or two about what I will teach for that lesson for about 5-10 minutes.
Following the Do Now activity, I will have written explanations for the answers and will send a screenshot or photo of the written answers after each lesson.
After finishing the Do Now, I will introduce the topic I will be teaching and will have the student try a few simple questions to evaluate their level and familiarity with the topic. This will determine the difficulty of the remainder of the lesson and the homework assigned.
