About Miranda
I spent three years in the Dominican Republic in which I had to communicate with students, parents, and coworkers in Spanish, as many had a limited understanding of English. I especially had to do this when I offered after school tutoring, as those were the students that needed extra help in switching from Spanish to English. By the same token, I would like to offer my services to those who are attempting to learn Spanish by helping them in that vocabulary, structure, and comprehension.

I started studying Spanish in the 4th grade, when we had a native Spanish-speaker in my class. Then in 5th grade, I took an after school enrichment course in which we studied Spanish. Then I began taking official classes in 8th grade, taking all 5 levels by the time I graduated high school. I went on to take two semesters in college, and I spent 3 years living in the Dominican Republic, a Spanish-speaking country. I worked at a bilingual school where I had to converse with students, parents, and coworkers who had a limited knowledge of English, and so I was forced to switch back and forth in between languages very often on a daily basis. I would begin by teaching my students basic vocabulary and sentence structure, and then move on to more complicated comprehension, just as I did with my students in the Dominican Republic when working with their English.
