About Sundar
I am Electrical and Electronics Engineer and worked in the engineering industry in functions like design, project management, engineering, plant, production, and general management for sixteen years. In 1998 I joined Rishi Valley School (Krishnamurti Foundation of India) as a faculty member and ever since served schools in educating children for sound understanding of subjects and good overall development. For more than two decades I have been teaching subjects Physics and Mathematics for students of Classes 6 to 10, Apart from this I was entrusted leadership and management roles in schools for the last twelve years. I also completed a doctorate in Education, Philosophy and Management entitled “A study of the management style and growth of students and teachers at Rishi Valley School.”
My experience in different schools gave me an insight into understanding children and their learning style to adopt, develop an appropriate pedagogy suitable to the context.

I attempt to understand the level of understanding of each child and also the causes for any gaps with respect to the expected levels for that class. As this is being explored, I also try to get an idea of the learning style of the child. Based on this I get an idea of the central tendencies of the class. With this and a grasp of the dispersion and causes for the same, I begin exploring different method of teaching, most of all using examples from the immediate neighborhood and surroundings of the child. The examples are converted to small examples or activities for the child to make and get a tactile sense.
