About Poppy
I am an actor and writer based in Birmingham. I have a degree in English and Drama from Royal Holloway and trained at Identity School of Acting. I have worked across both theatre and film, including performances in The Visitor at Camden Fringe, Cola Boy at the Edinburgh Fringe, and a National Tour of Awful Auntie with Heartbreak Productions. I also wrote and performed Blackout, a two-hander staged at The Old Joint Stock, Old Rep Theatre, and Theatre503. In addition to acting in several short films, I write and produce my own work. I run Untamed Productions, an initiative that supports local actors and writers by hosting scratch nights and new writing programmes.

Lessons are laid back and friendly. I will help you to select monologues/duologues best suited to you. We will work through the text together and do character analysis, objectives and actioning. I will also help you break down any Shakespeare texts. Lessons can be half an hour or an hour and can be in-person in Birmingham or online. I previously prepped students for RADA Shakespeare Awards (which sadly no longer run) and currently teach students at Solihull School preparing for Trinity exams with a 100% pass rate. I also teach foundation level and musical theatre.
