About Kalpana Reddy
I always strive to create a positive teaching environment. I do my groundwork before each class, and I come prepared to teach concepts based on my pupil's strengths and how much my pupil can grasp in one class. I use interactive math games as an option to generate curiosity and interest and to ensure my pupil is not bored of concept overload.
For instance, I recently taught KenKen puzzles to my pupil in the USA. He had trouble understanding these puzzles previously. Once my journey started with him, through my initial assessments, I understood he needed more confidence in basic arithmetic operations before he could solve KenKen puzzles. I was able to create a genuine bond with him and let him be more open and ask questions without hesitation. I instilled confidence in him by helping him solve simpler puzzles to start with, using pictures and physical objects as part of my teaching methods. Within a span of two to three months, he was able to solve 8x8 KenKen puzzles confidently.
My ultimate goal is to make my pupils confident and build strong basics and deeper conceptual understanding of mathematics, which goes a long way in their professional and personal journey as well.

I am proficient with Chrysalis syllabus and have two years experience teaching school-going junior grade students (pre-primary to 5th standard).
I am currently teaching Mathematics online for grade 2 pupil in the USA (Bluebonnet Learning Grade 2 Math, Edition 1). I guided my pupil to secure Math Composite score at the national percentile rank of 97 (well above Tier 1 cut score) in Feb 2027.
I am proficient in delivering online classes via Zoom and using its features. While online, I can also teach using traditional methods such as an actual whiteboard hanging on a wall and using physical objects over video call, to explain basic math concepts (such as arithmetic operations) with no confusion to children.
