About Alia
With over eleven years of experience teaching guitar both in-person and online, I bring passion, patience, and professionalism to every lesson. I hold a degree in Music Performance, with a focus on guitar pedagogy and expressive musicianship. My approach blends technical mastery with emotional expression, helping students not only play notes but tell stories through sound. I believe that every student has a unique musical voice, so I tailor each lesson to meet individual goals and learning styles. From foundational techniques to advanced improvisation, I guide students toward confidence and fluency on the fretboard. I emphasize the importance of music theory, rhythmic precision, and creative interpretation to develop well-rounded guitarists. My guitar teaching approach focuses on building strong foundations while inspiring creativity and confidence in every student. I start by helping learners understand posture and hand positioning to ensure comfort and prevent strain. Mental preparation is also key—I guide students to stay calm, focused, and positive during practice and performance. I emphasize finger independence through fun and progressive exercises that strengthen agility and precision.
For students aiming to perform or audition, I include stage readiness and performance techniques in my lessons. This helps them overcome stage fear and express themselves with confidence. I tailor lessons to fit each student’s learning style, ensuring they feel supported whether they’re exploring acoustic melodies or mastering electric solos. I encourage discipline but also allow room for experimentation and self-expression.
Students who love rhythm-driven or expressive playing styles find my lessons both structured and liberating.
