About Violet
Hi! I’m a passionate guitar tutor with over 11 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Contemporary Music, majoring in Guitar. I love composing and arranging music, both for solo guitar and ensemble settings. My teaching style is supportive, engaging, and goal-oriented, designed to suit school students, hobbyists, and professionals alike. I focus on building strong technical skills while nurturing creativity. My expertise includes scales, modes, songwriting, rhythm training, and stage performance. I help students develop confidence, whether playing solo pieces or performing with others. Lessons are tailored to each learner, ensuring steady progress and meaningful musical growth. I have successfully guided students from Intermediate to Advanced levels and those preparing for professional work. I enjoy making lessons interactive, fun, and inspiring. My goal is to ignite a lasting passion for guitar and music in every student. Together, we explore new techniques, songs, and musical ideas. My teaching approach focuses on helping students develop strong technical skills while nurturing a love for music. I guide learners through all guitar styles, including classical, jazz, electric, bass, and acoustic. I emphasize fingerstyle techniques, helping students gain precision, control, and expressive ability.
For younger and more rebellious learners, I provide a supportive space where they can explore creativity, experiment with sounds, and build confidence in their playing. I incorporate ensemble playing, group coordination, and rhythmic layering to help students understand how to interact musically in real-time.
We practice improvisation, song arrangement, and collaborative music-making, which strengthens listening skills and teamwork. I focus on structured exercises but balance them with fun, engaging activities that keep motivation high. Students learn to read music, understand theory, and apply it practically on the guitar.
My goal is not just to teach notes, but to help each student express themselves through music. I encourage consistent practice, creativity, and self-reflection. With guidance, patience, and encouragement, students develop both skill and passion. By the end of lessons, they gain confidence to perform solo or in groups.
