About Rhett
I am a passionate guitarist and tutor with over 11 years of experience in teaching, performing, and composing music. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Guitar Studies, which has given me a strong foundation in both classical technique and modern performance. My journey with the guitar began as a form of creative exploration and has grown into a lifelong pursuit of musical expression. I believe that learning the guitar is more than just mastering chords and scales—it’s about discovering one’s own voice through music. I work with students of all levels, from absolute beginners picking up the instrument for the first time to advanced musicians refining their craft. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s goals, interests, and pace of learning. In my sessions, I emphasize creativity, technique, and musical understanding equally. I encourage students to explore rhythm, melody, and harmony while developing confidence and self-expression. My teaching style is supportive and adaptive, aiming to make every class both educational and inspiring. Beyond teaching, I regularly perform and compose, which keeps my connection to the art vibrant and evolving. I bring that real-world experience into my lessons, showing students how music lives and breathes beyond the classroom. For me, the guitar isn’t just an instrument—it’s a lifelong companion in creativity and expression.

My teaching approach focuses on helping each student connect deeply with the guitar and express their musical ideas with confidence. I believe in building a strong foundation through rhythm practice, groove development, and tempo control. Every session blends technical skill with creativity, allowing students to feel the music instead of just playing notes.
I guide learners through different styles, from blues and funk to folk and acoustic pop, helping them adapt smoothly across genres. Each lesson is designed to suit individual goals—whether you want to perform, compose, or simply enjoy playing for yourself. I emphasize ear training, chord transitions, and strumming dynamics to develop musical sensitivity.
Students who love singing while playing or leading a group find special support in my sessions. I help them master timing, smooth transitions, and stage presence. My approach is hands-on and interactive, with practical examples and song-based exercises.
I focus on both technique and expression, ensuring progress feels natural and enjoyable. Through consistent rhythm drills and creative jam sessions, students learn to groove confidently. My goal is to make every learner feel capable, expressive, and inspired to grow as a guitarist and musician.
