About Zafirah

Hello! I'm Zafirah, and I'm passionate about language, storytelling and creative communication!

I hold a Diploma in Mass Media Management from Nanyang Polytechnic and have pursued undergraduate studies in Malay Language & Literature at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS).

My professional background is in the media and broadcasting industry, including experience at Mediacorp Suria, where I was involved in producing television promotional videos and writing scripts.

Why do I want to teach Bahasa Melayu?
I believe Bahasa Melayu is more than just a subject to pass in school. It is a beautiful language that connects us to our culture, identity, heritage and everyday life.

Through my experience in media, I have discovered how powerful language can be in expressing ideas, telling stories and connecting with people.

I want to bring that same creativity into my lessons by using newspaper articles, real-life examples, storytelling and practical exercises instead of relying solely on textbooks.

I understand that every student learns differently, so I aim to create a patient, encouraging and comfortable learning environment where students can ask questions without feeling embarrassed.

My goal is not simply to help students improve their grades, but to inspire them to appreciate Bahasa Melayu, think creatively and communicate confidently beyond the classroom.

About the lesson

My Bahasa Melayu lessons go beyond textbooks and memorization! I believe students learn best when they understand how the language connects to everyday life.
I incorporate newspaper articles, real-life situations, practical examples, storytelling and creative writing exercises to make lessons more engaging, meaningful and relatable.

Each lesson is tailored to the student's learning pace, strengths and areas for improvement, focusing on grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, oral communication and writing skills.

With patient guidance and plenty of examples, I encourage students to think critically, express their ideas confidently and apply what they learn beyond the classroom.

My goal is not just to help students achieve better grades, but to develop genuine confidence, curiosity and appreciation for Bahasa Melayu!
