About Jon Rhys
I am Jon Rhys Voerman (Rhys to most!). I started guitar in 2006 after hearing Children Of Bodom’s “Hatebreeder” and have had a fascination with neo-classical stylings ever since. I also have a huge love for classical music, particularly baroque, and improvisation! In 2010, I attended college to study music. I have spent a lot of time as a session musician since then. In 2023, I won first place in the King’s Peak Music Competition in the Composition Category!

In my lessons, I try to push the student to see what the riffs/solos they love are made of and how they can create riffs/solos like that by teaching them improvisation and theory to understand why music is the way it is!
