About Makya
I’m a licensed cosmetology instructor, entrepreneur, and homeschooling mom of five with over 25 years of experience teaching in both creative and academic settings. I offer lessons in cosmetology, barbering, nails, waxing, business marketing, and financial literacy, along with academic tutoring for children in grades PK–12th grade. My homeschool tutoring covers elementary math, reading, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship, helping children not only master core subjects but also gain early exposure to real-world skills.

A Typical Lesson Plan
Warm-Up & Review – We start with a quick check-in and recap of previous lessons to build continuity.
New Concept Introduction – I explain the topic with clear, real-world examples.
Interactive Practice – Students apply what they’ve learned through guided activities, demonstrations, or problem-solving tasks.
Feedback & Support – I provide constructive feedback and adjust the lesson if needed to ensure full understanding.
Action Steps/Homework – I give students a clear plan for practicing their skills between sessions.
