About Shrey
I am currently an A Level student at Westminster School, where I study in a highly academic environment. I have achieved full marks in the UKMT Intermediate and Senior Maths Challenges multiple times, earned medals in national mathematical competitions, and achieved a Distinction in the British Mathematical Olympiad Round 2 (BMO2), placing in the top 12 nationally. I also achieved Grade 9 in GCSE Mathematics and an A (Highest Grade) in Additional Mathematics.
I have always enjoyed mathematics because of the patterns and ideas behind it. My aim is to help students see that maths is not just a collection of formulas to memorise, but a subject built on logical connections. Once these connections become clear, even challenging problems become much more approachable.
In my lessons, I encourage students to ask questions and focus on understanding why methods work, rather than simply learning steps by memory. I want students to develop the confidence to tackle unfamiliar problems independently and to feel that they truly understand the ideas behind the solutions.
Most importantly, I believe confidence plays a huge role in mathematical success. I aim to create lessons where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and gradually developing both their ability and enjoyment of mathematics.

Having previously taught at Mathnasium and now studying A Levels at Westminster School, I have experience working with students of different ages and abilities. At Mathnasium, I learned how to identify gaps in understanding, adapt explanations to suit each student, and break difficult ideas into smaller, more manageable steps.
My approach is centred around understanding rather than memorisation. I encourage students to ask questions, explore different ways of thinking, and build the confidence needed to tackle challenging problems independently.
Whether a student is looking to strengthen their foundations, achieve higher grades, prepare for competitive maths, or simply become more confident, I tailor lessons to their individual goals and learning style.

At school he’s always willing to help explain the topics I’m struggling on, no matter how big or how small. Thanks to him I ended up doing well on our matrices test. He’s a great teacher.
