About Cora
I am a passionate piano tutor with 9 years of experience and a successful record of teaching around 300 students, including high school learners, college students, and adults who wish to improve their technical skills, musical understanding, and performance confidence.
My teaching philosophy combines structured guidance with encouragement and creativity, emphasising correct posture, hand coordination, finger independence, scales, arpeggios, rhythm, sight-reading, and musical interpretation. I believe that technical mastery and emotional expression go hand in hand, so I ensure students not only play correctly but also feel and communicate the music they perform.
Lessons are carefully structured with warm-ups, technical exercises, theory integration, and repertoire practice, along with guidance on effective at-home practice strategies to ensure consistent progress. Many of my students have performed successfully in recitals, school programmes, competitions, and public events, while several have achieved high distinctions in graded examinations.
My goal is to nurture confident, expressive, and skilled pianists who enjoy music, build a lifelong love for piano, and continue growing as both musicians and individuals.

My approach to teaching piano combines structure with personalised flexibility. I carefully observe each student’s strengths and challenges, then adjust my instruction to match their learning style. I emphasise technical development such as coordination between hands, scale practice, rhythm precision, and dynamic control.
I also guide students in building consistent and effective practice habits. If a student struggles, I modify my teaching method and provide alternative exercises for clarity. Collaboration is central to my lessons; students participate in selecting music and setting realistic goals.
Positivity plays an important role in building confidence and motivation. Alongside piano instruction, I offer lessons in music theory, harmony, sight-reading, and beginner composition to strengthen overall musical growth.
