About Roberto R
I grew up in the vineyards of Napa Valley and shadowed my dad as he worked the vines. I studied Viticulture & Enology (Vineyards & Winemaking) at UC Davis. After school, I went right to work for various wineries. My goal was to gain as much experience as possible. I was fortunate to work for winemakers in the cellars, work in the vineyards, sell wine and grapes to clients, and educate people from all over the world. I currently live and work in the beautiful California wine region, Lake County. I enjoy sharing my passion.

In this beginner-friendly class, you'll explore the world of wine essentials in a relaxed, approachable way.
We’ll cover the basics—from understanding the differences between reds, whites, sparkling, sweet, and dry wines to tasting and evaluating each sip. You’ll learn how to unlock tasting notes, decipher a wine label, and get familiar with common wine lingo. We’ll also explore basic wine etiquette, and dive into the differences between Old World and New World wines and how each region influences flavor. By the end, you’ll feel empowered to pick a bottle from a menu, confidently navigate a winery visit, and impress your friends with your new wine expertise!
Each student will receive a tailored lesson based on a quick questionnaire to better understand your needs.
