About Dave
I have been working freelance as a web designer and developer since 2012, specialising in WordPress sites, with previous experience in PR and marketing. I have taught my own Learn To Build a Website in a Day classes, and built sites for clients including international NGOs, local children's charities and Grammy-award winning musicians. I am a full stack developer and designer, meaning I am just as comfortable selecting colour palettes and designing logos, as coding in PHP, CSS, HTML and Javascript. You might be just setting out, or you might be a seasoned developer looking to get started with the WordPress platform. I want to be able to respond to your specific needs. I love to troubleshoot and problem solve, and I don't like to waste time talking you through something you could learn for yourself online, so sometimes I will throw students in the direction of a useful online resource where I think that will serve them best. As a teacher, I will be most valuable to you when things get stuck, when a concept hasn't landed, or when you just don't know where to begin with a problem. The world of coding and design is full of jargon, and WordPress, which is its own subculture, is no exception, so hopefully I can navigate you out of some of those quicksands. I've probably been there myself at some point.

Perfect! Dave is incredibly knowledgeable and really takes his time to explain things. He offers positive insight into things on websites which could be better and really takes his time to make sure that you understand what you’re doing and why.
