Welcome! You're in the Right Place to Learn & Grow as an Artist Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or returning to painting after years away, you're in safe hands. I'm a professional artist with a lifelong passion for visual storytelling and over 8 years of experience creating and selling original artworks. My work has been internationally recognised, featured in the art book Living Large by Earl Large, and showcased in exhibitions, auctions, and competitions, including conservation events like Sketch For Survival. With 25–30 original pieces sold across the UK, I’ve built not only a successful art practice—but a deep understanding of what it takes to teach others how to paint confidently and creatively. I combine technical know-how with a supportive, down-to-earth teaching style that meets you right where you are. Whether you're here for relaxation, self-expression, or serious artistic growth, I’ll guide you through each step—from blank canvas to finished masterpiece. • Techniques and Teaching Methodology My teaching approach is designed to make painting accessible, enjoyable, and deeply fulfilling—no matter your skill level. We always begin with the outline. If you're confident in your drawing skills, you're welcome to sketch freehand. However, if creating the initial outline feels daunting, I provide pre-drawn templates that you can trace onto your sheet or canvas. Tracing is not cheating—it’s a widely used technique that allows you to focus on painting, colour theory, and brushwork, especially if you're just starting out. My priority is helping you gain confidence with the medium, not testing your drawing ability. Our lessons begin with simple yet expressive paintings that help you understand key concepts like dark, middle, and light tones, highlights, and blending techniques. You’ll gradually learn how to work with both watercolours and acrylics, from prepping your surface to varnishing the final piece. We cover a wide range of techniques including: Wet-on-wet and dry brush (watercolours) Glazing and layering (acrylics) Blending and texture techniques Composition, colour theory, and finishing touches And as a special bonus, each student will get the chance to paint a subject of their own choice, with personalised guidance throughout. • Typical Length of a Lesson Watercolour Painting: 1 to 1.5 hours Acrylic Painting: 2 to 2.5 hours Time could differ depending on the size and detailing of the painting. Each session is relaxed, paced according to the student’s progress, and filled with hands-on instruction. • Qualifications and Experience as a Tutor My journey with art began in childhood—drawing Disney cartoon characters and painting on walls! Although I hold a BA from Rajasthan University, Jaipur, and an MBA from Switzerland, where I developed strong communication and interpersonal skills, my heart has always belonged to the world of visual art. Since moving to the UK, I’ve built a thriving art practice specialising in watercolour and acrylic painting with 8 years of experience, with over 25–30 original artworks sold across the country. My portfolio includes a wide range of subjects: still life, florals, landscapes, seascapes, food, objects, and wildlife. Highlights of my artistic journey: Featured in the international art book Living Large by Earl Large. Participated in art auctions and competitions, including Sketch For Survival, supporting wildlife conservation. Built a loyal online following via Instagram, YouTube, and Patreon, where I regularly post tutorials, process videos, and behind-the-scenes content.
