About Arnan
I've worked in tutoring for middle and high school students for over 6 years, with a concentration on STEM relating subjects and test prep. I've helped students improve their place in a class by 3 letter grades, and add 220 point to their SAT score. Together, my students and I work on how to solve difficult problems in a more effective manner that carries over into the rest of their coursework.

Working as a tutor for 6 years and accumulating hundreds of hours of experience with students of all ages and skill levels, I've come to appreciate the time to work with each new student as an opportunity to change outlooks on previously problematic areas.
I believe in emphasizing problem solving skills and learning to approach difficult topics in a structured manner over rote material memorization. Instead of repeatedly going over a general area, we can go in depth and use problem solving to maximize information retention and build critical thinking skills.
I begin with each student by attempting to learn their strengths and weaknesses, what study habits have worked for them in the past and which ones haven't. With a better understanding of their goals from our time together and how they learn best, students proceed forward spending minimal time on topics already well understood, and instead will mainly focus on the problem areas that carry the most difficulty for them.
