About Brittany
I want students to be able to come to me with questions they may have- related or unrelated to the subject matter. It is important to me they feel they are in a safe space to ask these questions. Listening is key in being a great teacher, because with listening comes understanding and with understanding comes growth. Ultimately, that is the goal- to see growth.

Firstly, I love to begin my lessons getting to know the individual first, that way we can dive into where we need to focus and what the student's interests are.
In a typical lesson, I will include visuals- I believe they are a great way to teach English or any other language as a second language. We call these visuals realia- they help to apply a subject matter with a tangible object. I think I like to try to make the lesson fun and engaging for the student. I even tried some kinesthetics when I was tutoring a student online- a little more limited, but it was definitely worth the effort. I have mostly taught students online for English as a second language.
