About James
I'm a Mathematics student at the University of Warwick, currently on track for a first-class degree after achieving a first in my first year. Before university, I left St Albans School with four A*s at A-Level (Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry) and top GCSE grades, so I know exactly what it takes to succeed at each stage. I've been tutoring since January 2024 and genuinely enjoy breaking down difficult concepts into something clear and manageable. Outside of academics, I play piano and rugby which keeps me well-rounded and approachable as a teacher. I want to help students build the same confidence in Mathematics that helped me get where I am.

I tailor every lesson to the individual student, first assessing their strengths and gaps before structuring sessions around the key concepts that matter most for their exam board and level. I've tutored students aged 11-18 since January 2024, helping achieve a 100% improvement rate in grades. Lessons typically run 60 minutes and combine clear, structured explanations with plenty of practice questions, building both technical skill and exam confidence. I'm currently a Mathematics student at the University of Warwick (first class in year one), so I bring both strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for the subject to every session.
