My methods focus on making abstract concepts visible and touchable.
> The CPA Approach (Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract):
* Concrete: We start with physical objects (like blocks, counters, or digital manipulatives) to physically feel the math (e.g., building groups of 10).
* Pictorial: We translate those objects into drawings, dots, or bar models.
* Abstract: Introduce standard numbers and symbols (+, -, *, /).
> Usual Structure of the Class
Every lesson follows a predictable, low-stress, high-engagement routine designed specifically for the attention spans of primary school children:
1. The Brain Warm-Up (5-10 mins): A quick, fun mental math game or puzzle to grab attention and activate "math mode" without any pressure.
2. Concept Discovery (15 mins): Introducing the day's core topic using interactive visuals, storytelling, or hands-on manipulatives.
3. Guided Play & Practice (20 mins): Working through problems together. I scaffold the learning, gradually stepping back as the student's confidence grows.
4. Independent Challenge (10 mins): A short, curated task where the student applies what they learned to prove to themselves that "they've got this."
5. Celebration & Reflection (5 mins): Reviewing the biggest breakthrough of the session and a preview of the next step.
> Mistake-Friendly Environment:
In my classes, mistakes are celebrated as clues that show us how the brain learns. This builds the psychological safety kids need to take risks and tackle hard problems.
> My Superprof schedule is dedicated exclusively to young learners:
• Primary School Learners (Grade 2 to Grade 5 / Ages 7-11): Children building their foundational math skills, preparing for middle school transitions, or looking to get ahead.
• Students Needing Remediation: Kids who have missed fundamental building blocks (like place value or fractions) and need to close gaps fast.
