About Miles
Starting out feels a bit intimidating, but we will jump right into the basics of diction and articulation to help you feel grounded. I often mention that my Bachelor of Arts in Music from Berklee shaped how I approach belting technique for absolute beginners.
We will spend time on sight singing and exam preparation to ensure you understand the mechanics of your own instrument. I make sure to provide resources so you can keep growing between our meetings. Homework vocal drills assigned after every session will keep your progress on track. Just bring your curiosity and a bottle of water.

Singing often feels more like a physical sport than an art form when you are on stage. I discovered this firsthand during 6 years of experience touring as a musician after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Berklee.
It is funny how many people think volume equals good singing, but I teach the opposite. My work with 185 students has shown me that adults and beginners alike benefit most from focusing on vocal health and care. We will work on your pitch control and vibrato through steady, gentle practice. I am, after all, a musician who values the science behind the sound.
It is helpful to treat the voice like a fragile instrument that needs consistent, daily maintenance. I plan to keep things low pressure while we explore your range.
