About Lauren
I am a voice, piano and clarinet instructor with the education and musical background that provides students with a well rounded musical experience that includes: music theory, healthy vocal technique, detailed piano technique, clarinet technique and music history. Students who study with me come away from lessons knowing the difference between the right and wrong way to sing as well as the difference between the right and wrong way to play piano and clarinet. It is my goal to provide the best education possible that allows my students to sing the healthy way throughout their whole life.

In voice lessons with me, I use a natural vocal technique based on the Alexander Method of Teaching which is comprised of several components fostering vocal health tailored to each individual student and performer. My goal is to promote the healthy approach to singing so that my students not only have an extensive range, but also a voice that will last them a lifetime.
In piano lessons, I focus strongly on proper hand technique, music theory study, phrasing, counting, as well as expression. I also cover things like music interpretation and music history.
As a clarinet instructor, I give the student a well rounded approach to learning the clarinet. If the student hasn't already learned basic music theory and counting I begin with learning those concepts properly after I have taught how to find the different notes on the instrument. I then venture into teaching proper phrasing and note connectivity which promotes that beautiful tone we all love to hear.
