About Julie
I’m a professional online tutor with years of experience helping elementary students build skills in reading, literacy, grammar, spelling, and English.
I specialize in working with children who are struggling, whether that's due to learning differences, gaps in instruction, or a lack of confidence.
I’m known for my incredible patience, calm teaching style, and ability to meet kids exactly where they are.
I’ve worked with many students who have special learning needs, and I create a safe, low-pressure space where they feel supported and capable.
In addition to tutoring, I design educational printables that reinforce key skills in reading and language, giving families simple tools they can use outside of our sessions.

Teaching Methodology
I take a calm, student-centered approach that focuses on building confidence, not pressure. My lessons are structured but flexible, blending phonics, reading fluency, grammar, spelling, and English language skills with lots of encouragement, creativity, and patience.
Many of the students I work with have special learning needs, and I’m especially skilled at creating a safe, low-stress environment where children feel capable and supported.
My sessions integrate evidence-based techniques like phonemic awareness practice, oral reading support, and explicit vocabulary instruction, all of which adapt to the needs and pace of each learner.
I also design and incorporate custom educational printables to make learning more engaging and effective, perfect for extra practice between sessions or to reinforce new skills.
A Typical Lesson
Each session is tailored to an individual student. A typical lesson may include:
A short warm-up or review of prior concepts
Targeted instruction (i.e. decoding strategies, spelling patterns, grammar rules)
Interactive games, stories, or printable activities
A brief check-in or reflection to reinforce learning
I always include elements of fun, encouragement, and connection, because when kids enjoy the process, they’re more open to learning.
