About Robin
I began violin studies at the age of six. At age 12, I began competing and won recognitions such as the Southwest Symphony Orchestra’s concerto competition, Northwest Indiana Symphony Youth Orchestra’s concerto competition, Chicago Music Festival in Honor of Confucius, and Illinois Music Association competition. I also performed as a soloist on 98.7 WFMT's show Introductions at age seventeen. As an adult I have performed in several groups including the Notre Dame Symphony Orchestra as concertmaster, and as a paid contract player in multiple orchestras including 3 consecutive years in the Clear Lake Symphony orchestra.

I love teaching violin students. Together we will learn posture, technique, music reading, and progress through repertoire. We will work through various drills for left- and right-hand posture, ear training, and bow control, then work through repertoire. Whether you're brand new to the instrument, coming back after some time, or switching from another instrument, I would love to work with you!

Perfect! Robin is a great teacher! She was very communicative before our lesson, incredibly knowledgeable, and so kind and welcoming. I had a great first lesson and really enjoyed learning from her. I’m looking forward to continuing!
Perfect! Robin is so incredibly amazing and patient! She has a lot of experience teaching children, and she is really good teaching adults as well. I 1000% recommend her!
Perfect! Robin is a fantastic instructor! She's a great communicator and skilled musician. I appreciate how she takes time to focus on the fundamentals and she's patient in allowing mistakes to be part of the learning process. In two lessons, she has already helped me correct a few technique and positioning issues and it's already making practice and playing violin more enjoyable. I highly recommend Robin as an instructor for anyone looking to learn to play violin.
Perfect! Robin is a fantastic violin instructor. She is knowledgeable, attentive to detail, and very encouraging. She gives practical, thoughtful advice that really helps you improve. I highly recommend her!
