About Amie
I am a classically trained violinist and experienced orchestral performer with years of ensemble and pit orchestra experience. I have performed extensively in symphonic and musical theater settings, developing strong ensemble awareness, musical precision, and stylistic flexibility. My background includes participation in honors orchestras and leadership experience as a section leader.
I am an experienced teacher, having taught orchestra in schools and private lessons. I am currently an orchestra director in a public school district.
Although my main instrument is viola, I regularly perform in both violin sections. I bring a broad understanding of ensemble balance, section dynamics, and collaborative musicianship. This versatility has shaped me into a responsive, attentive performer who values clarity of sound, structural awareness, and cohesive artistry within a group setting.
In addition to my orchestral work, I maintain a commitment to strong technical foundations and thoughtful interpretation in all areas of my musical work.

teach violin to beginners and intermediate students in a supportive, structured online environment. I believe strong fundamentals create confident musicians, so lessons focus on healthy technique, beautiful tone, rhythmic accuracy, and musical expression from the very beginning.
Each student receives individualized guidance based on their learning style and goals. Whether preparing for auditions, developing vibrato, working to advance in orchestra at school, learning repertoire for festivals, or simply building confidence, I help students grow step-by-step while keeping lessons encouraging and engaging.
I aim to create thoughtful, independent musicians who feel proud of their progress.
