About Mary Beth
I have been a teacher of English or Spanish Language Learners of all ages and stages my entire career. Teaching is my calling. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree w/ Honors in Elementary Education and Bilingual Education from the University of Northern Colorado with many additional credits in both areas,
I’ve taught hundreds of young children to read, started a dual language immersion school (Spanish and English), and privately tutored students of many ages, helping them either overcome specific reading struggles, or meet academic goals in a short period of time.
I’ve helped both young and adult learners in many languages and I can help you!

My lessons all revolve around exactly what each student needs on any given day.
If a young child is struggling with vowel sounds, I would get a book that shares words with very obvious vowel sounds and pictures. We’d have fun “acting it out” and physically making those sounds as I touch the letter and say what it is. For all learners, the more senses I can bring into any lesson (seeing, hearing, touching, smelling and tasting) the stronger the learning.
For older readers, or readers learning English, I would again find out exactly where the struggle lies, and work together to build a plan that fits their exact needs and developmental level.
I am a tutor that can quickly zero in on the learning target for any age or any stage of learner and, in a very positive way help them work toward confidence and success in reaching their goal.
