About Alastair
My name is Alastair Trevill. I was an actor and director for many years before working as a teacher. With my first degree in English & American Literature, I have a lifelong passion for drama, and, in particular, Shakespeare. I am a really experienced English teacher, having worked in the private sector for thirteen years now, and I have privately tutored many students down the years to great success. I will provide all the materials; all you have to do is to work with me, and together we can achieve great things!

My lessons are individually tailored to your child’s needs. I am a very experienced private school English teacher who knows exactly how to either get your child into a good school or to help them with their exams once they are in one. Experienced at all levels of secondary education, including 11+, 13+, GCSE and A Level, I am also extremely kind, patient and encouraging in style. Nonetheless, I am gently rigorous in my approach, allowing the student to, first, gain confidence, and, second, to go on to excel. With excellent results both at school and as a private tutor, I can help your child achieve the goal they want in English.

Details
I will give one 30 min online trial for free, and for us to get to know each other. After that it is £70 per hour, + £10 if I have to travel within a reasonable distance of my home. I can do solely online lessons for £60 per hour, but if you want a mix of lessons the lesson rate will stay at a fixed £70 per hour (with the travel cost subtracted if online).
