About Luca
Hey there!
My name is Luca, I'm a professional Saxophonist, Multi-Instrumentalist, and Composer based in Melbourne, Australia.
I've been teaching music for over 5 years, and have been playing music for nearly 2 decades!
I'm passionate about teaching music theory, and helping my students to decode some of the mysteries around it!
I was trained by some of Australia's leading musicians and have developed excellent technique, which I pass on to my students.

My teaching style takes a holistic approach towards musicianship through mastering fundamental skills and knowledge, providing students with the confidence to write, perform and improvise both independently and alongside fellow musicians.
Lessons are typically 45 minutes to 1 hour as this provides enough time to both explain and practice musical concepts.
I have spent a number of years teaching both privately and in schools to a wide range of ages and skill levels across Guitar and Music Theory.
My lessons cover a variety of topics including:
Guitar technique and tone
Developing great time feel
Transcribing, memorizing and notating music by ear
Developing aural skills and relative pitch
Harmonic and rhythmic theory
Reading music notation
Song and ensemble arrangement
& more!

Luca has taught me saxophone and music theory for the last year or so, in which time I've gone from looking at jazz standards as a daunting task to being able to improvise comfortably over them!
He explains everything clearly and always has new exercises to keep practice time feeling fresh.Luca has been my saxophone teacher for nearly 2 years. He is great at explaining complex musical ideas and concepts in simple and easy-to-understand language. He always provides encouragement and ways to improve my sound. The music lessons are fun, and I look forward to my lessons. I especially enjoy the jam at the end of the lesson.
