About Hannah
Artist and chronic illness spoonie who has extensive experience in the emerging field of Arts-in-Healthcare. I have my Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, but it was my autoimmune disease - multiple sclerosis - that really taught me how to use my skills for the better. I currently work with several nonprofit organizations to develop and teach guided art lessons for their particular community. My artwork is drastically different post diagnosis. I no longer strive for realism, and now embrace my messy, scribbly, imperfect existence. I started appreciating my life again by using simple motions, repetition, patterns, bright colors, and scribbles in a meditative way.

Use the act of making art as a way to relieve stress and process emotions. Learn how to use the supplies you already have; even if all you have is a pencil or pen.
Come as you are, and I’ll guide you through simple, but satisfying, techniques and methods, even if you have zero experience doing any kind of art.
We’ll use simple motions, repetition, patterns, simple shapes, and scribbles in a meditative manner, with an emphasis on mark-making, rather than perfecting a technique.
All lessons are personalized to you and your capabilities and needs. We can do a new art project every meeting or we can stretch one project out into multiple sessions. If you think you can’t make art because of a disability, then don’t think I don’t believe in you!
I’ll use our first meeting to get to know you and discuss how we can best work together.
I would love to listen to your story while we practice having fun and making art.
Important note: I am not a licensed healthcare professional. I've made art alongside and with people in hospitals and other clinical settings as an art instructor, not a healthcare worker. There is a difference between Art Therapy and "art-as-therapy" .If you need a professional, please contact your insurance provider or other local sources for your specific needs.
