About Alissa
I have just finished my first year studying maths at University of Birmingham with the goal of eventually becoming a Maths teacher. I have a years worth of experience working as a volunteer tutor. With so much education being moved online, I decided I wanted to extend my help to any students who may be struggling with learning maths without the support they might find in a classroom.

In my time volunteering as a tutor, I was trained to allow the students to talk me through their process up until the point where they get stuck. Then the two of us would work together to understand where the student may have gone wrong in their thinking. The goal is to help the student arrive at the correct answer by themselves, by helping them think critically about the process and the concepts they learned in class.
