About Alina
As a tutor, I am dedicated, patient, and empathetic, bringing a wealth of academic experience to my tutoring practice. I graduated with top grades from UCL, achieving a Distinction in my MA History and a First Class Honors in my BA History, Politics and Economics. Consistently being on the Dean's list during both my undergraduate and postgraduate studies reflects my high level of knowledge, work-ethic, and passion for history.
My academic journey has covered various topics, from British and German History to Eastern European History, showing my commitment to exploring diverse areas within the field. With this broad expertise, I am well-prepared to support students in different historical subjects. Whether it's understanding British politics, German reunification, Polish communism, or Russian Cold War tactics, I am dedicated to nurturing a deep appreciation and understanding of history in my students.

In my approach to history tutoring, I place a high value on individualised and engaging instruction that is tailored to each student's unique requirements and learning preferences. My priority is to establish a safe, participatory learning environment where students feel at ease asking questions and delving deeply into historical subjects.
My teaching methodology involves a diverse range to cater to different learning styles and to meet the demands of the curriculum effectively. Alongside interactive discussions, I utilise source analysis exercises to develop critical evaluation skills essential for exam success. Furthermore, essay writing workshops are integrated to enhance students' ability to construct coherent arguments and effectively communicate historical analysis. Finally, through exam-style practice questions and mark schemes, students gain familiarity with the assessment criteria and refine their exam technique.
My one-hour-long sessions cater to students of all levels, including GCSE, A-level, and undergraduate levels.
